I hold a huge reverence for the mysteries of life. The moments that sometimes have no words, and the things that until we live them, we can have no understanding of.
Birth and death are some such moments, and I have been touched by both in my personal life, and I chose those fields of care in my professional life.
I started my nursing career as a tender 17 year old and quickly learned that I loved caring for people. Real people, not a diagnosis or a bed number, but a whole person who lives a life.
Standing as a companion at the threshold between worlds is an experience few know these days. I’ve been holding space for people as they left their bodies, and as they’ve brought new lives into the world.
Armed with clinical knowledge – I’m a midwife, after all – and a deep understanding of what it takes to experience a beautiful birth I can hold space for you and honour your experiences, your dreams, your hopes and your fears.
