Birth
is your doorway to
motherhood

Every woman dreams about it... but very few dare to believe it is possible:
A beautiful birth.
What was YOUR birth experience like?
Do you remember the day of your baby’s arrival with fondness – or regret?
Do you carry your mother’s story of a painful (and undignified) birth, or did she tell you about the joy and the power she felt on that glorious day of your arrival?
Whatever your past experience, I’m here to tell you this: Birth matters. It matters to you and to your baby.
The way we birth is crucial to how we start a new life with love, compassion, and without regrets.
What birth story are YOU going tell?

Lyn has been an invaluable source of support and knowledge throughout my two pregnancies and breastfeeding journeys. The support I received gave me the confidence - and the knowledge - to advocate for myself and my children. She's been there every step of the way with information about the worst things (from episiotomy to mastitis) and the best things (successful breastfeeding and spontaneous labour). I credit her with the confidence I have to face parenthood: I am the best mother for my children.
Are you one of the many women who feel sad about their birth experience?
Or did you think you “were just fine” and now find yourself carrying some sort of pain that you can’t quite put your finger on?
Perhaps you just feel deep inside yourself that you deserve a next birth that is very different from the one that left you anxious to go through the experience again.
Or perhaps you’re afraid of giving birth for the first time because of how it is portrayed by the media?
YOU have the power to choose how to birth and parent. You don’t have choose from fear.
It’s going to take knowledge. And courage. And most of all, support.

What kind of support speaks to you?

Imagine telling your child the story of their birth one day.
You don’t think it matters?
You’d be surprised. Old ladies in nursing homes still remember their births.
Each birth only ever happens once and the life long consequences stay with a woman and her baby forever.
Yet women know the system of how shelves are organised in their local supermarket BETTER than the system they give birth in.
Does a beautiful birth mean it’s pain-free? Or a guaranteed smooth journey?
– Of course not.
But those dreams you had of how you’d bring new life into the world?
They are there for a reason.
They are nudging you to remember that keeping your baby safe doesn’t require you to become a victim of your birth circumstances.
They are nudging you to say: Hey! What if you could do this YOUR way?
What if you were THAT powerful?
It’s important to me that you know your full range of options as you prepare for your birth – whether it’s your first or your next birth, and regardless of where you decide to have your baby.
A beautiful birth is not solely determined by where it takes place but by the level of support and encouragement you receive, by the confidence you feel when making decisions, and by deeply knowing what’s best for your baby at the time they pass the threshold into our world.
It’s not only years of midwifery that have given me insight – I’ve spoken to hundreds of women, with some of them very in-depth during my Master of Nursing qualification research, and I’ve given birth to four beautiful children myself.
Yes, they were beautiful births: the ones at hospital as well as the ones at home. The place may frame the experience but it doesn’t define it.
The same is true for your previous birth experience. While I cannot change the experience you have had in the past, I can help you heal from it.
And I can work with you towards a beautiful birth experience that honours your experiences, your dreams and your fears as you approach your own threshold of motherhood again.

Thank you for the difficult questions, for enabling me to reflect like I never have in the past and for always having faith. I admire how you are able to support and encourage others and how you have the strength to walk your own path.

We knew we wanted to do things differently for the pregnancy and birth of our baby. Being brought up surrounded by home birthing women, I knew this was something I wanted to aim for. Searching the internet solo was a minefield. Lyn was able to listen compassionately to our ideals and hopes for our pregnancy and birth and was able to share a number of resources which aligned with our hopes. She helped us to really articulate what it was that we wanted and to really delve into why those things were important to us as a couple. Lyn helped us to transform our ideals into a concrete plan, giving us confidence and real clarity about how we could achieve this plan.
Each of us ends up in a deeply uncomfortable spot from time to time.
You know what I’m talking about: The one that refuses to go away. The one that is taking up so much of your thoughts and your energy but you don’t know where to turn for help.
That happens invariably at some point during pregnancy – especially if you’ve had experiences that left you feel disempowered and disillusioned.
“Will it happen again?” “What if my voice won’t be heard?” “How can I keep my baby safe AND have a beautiful birth?”
Help is here.
I offer a 60 minute consultation – privately, over video chat – where you can talk freely about your previous experiences and your thoughts, fears and hopes for your nearing birth and get professional advice.
Why tie yourself up in knots when there’s a holistic mentor and wise woman who can listen, and really hear you?
Why spend days reading other people’s birth stories when really, you need personal advice how to change your own?
My Magic of Birth Consultation is a safe and gentle space to get birth guidance and education tailored to your personal circumstances in the comfort of your own home.
